Organisation Background
Communi-tea Wellness CIC was founded in March 2025 by mental health nurse and community practitioner Laura Bromley, inspired by her work at Craftea, a community play café in Meanwood. During her time there, Laura saw how many parents were moving through early parenthood without a strong “village” around them. Families new to the UK, LGBTQ+ parents, and those affected by trauma or family estrangement often shared the same feelings of isolation and the same need for connection, understanding, and a space where they could feel safe and welcomed.
Communi-tea Wellness grew from these conversations. From the very beginning, listening has been at the heart of everything we do. Our wellbeing, parenting, and peer-support programmes are shaped by the lived experiences of local families, growing in response to real needs and real relationships.
Our team came together naturally, having all worked in the same building in Meanwood. It was in those shared spaces that we connected over our values and a common vision for something better. What started as small conversations grew into a shared commitment to creating inclusive, creative, and compassionate spaces where families feel seen, supported, and valued.
Today, our work is held by a team whose skills and lived experiences are woven into every session, every conversation, and every project we offer.
Laura brings a deep understanding of mental health and community care. Her work ensures that everything we do is grounded in compassion, safety, and a genuine awareness of the challenges families can face.
Our Creative Lead, Heidi Hannah, brings warmth, creativity, and a sense of play that runs through all of our work. As a self-taught artist who has exhibited across the UK, Heidi has spent years creating spaces where children and families can express themselves freely and confidently. She is passionate about supporting survivors of domestic violence, neurodiverse families, and children with SEN, and she creates environments where everyone feels welcome just as they are. As a parent in a large blended family, she also brings deep empathy, understanding, and a calm, reassuring presence.
Community Artist and Facilitator Moesha Robertson brings care, thoughtfulness, and a strong sense of social awareness to her work. A Fine Art graduate from Leeds Arts University, Mo explores identity and lived experience through her creative practice. Her own experiences growing up in a low-income household shape her commitment to supporting families who may feel overlooked or unheard. She is also passionate about women’s health and equality, and this is reflected in both her art and her teaching. In her sessions, Mo creates inclusive and flexible spaces where people of all ages and abilities can explore, express themselves, and build confidence in their own way.
Together, we create spaces that feel welcoming, nurturing, and full of life. We believe in the power of creativity, connection, and community. Our aim is to reduce loneliness, support parental wellbeing, and help families across Leeds feel part of something where they truly belong.
Our Values
At its heart, Communi-tea Wellness believes that strong families build strong communities — and that everyone deserves a place where they can belong.

Community First
We believe that the strongest solutions come from the people who use them. Every project we deliver is shaped by listening to families, valuing lived experience, and ensuring communities lead the way.

Connection & Belonging
Parenthood should never be lonely. We create warm, welcoming spaces where parents and children feel seen, supported, and part of something bigger than themselves.

Inclusivity Without Exception
We champion families of every background, identity, and story. Our work actively welcomes LGBTQ+ parents, neurodiverse families, immigrant communities, single parents, blended families, and anyone who feels they don’t have a traditional “village.”

Creativity as Healing
Play, art, and imagination are powerful tools for wellbeing. We use creative practice to build confidence, expression, communication skills, and stronger parent–child relationships.

Compassion & Dignity
We meet people where they are, without judgment. Whether offering mental health support, a cup of tea, or a listening ear, care and kindness underpin everything we do.

Early Years Matter
The early years shape futures. We focus on strengthening families during this critical period through supportive, developmentally rich, and nurturing activities for both parents and children.

Empowerment Over Intervention
We don’t “fix” families — we walk alongside them. Our goal is to build confidence, resilience, and self-advocacy so families feel empowered long after the session ends.

Joy, Play & Positivity
Wellbeing doesn’t have to be serious. We believe in laughter, messy art, silly storytelling, outdoor adventures, and finding joy in the everyday. Fun builds connection, and connection builds community.
Our Mission
Communi-tea Wellness CIC exists to:
Reduce parental loneliness
through accessible social activities for parents and parents-to-be, especially supporting new mums and dads navigating their first experience of parenthood.
Provide peer and one-to-one support
that connects families to mental health, health-visiting, SEND, and financial services, helping to bridge gaps in existing services.
Offer play-based, creative sessions
that develop children’s communication, language, and early numeracy skills.
Encourage parent–child connection
through reading, art, movement, creativity, and outdoor play.
Celebrate and normalise different kinds of families
fostering acceptance, open-mindedness, and understanding across communities.
Harness the power of art, play, and creativity
to promote healing, self-expression, and wellbeing for both parents and children.
Create inclusive, non-judgmental spaces
where families from all backgrounds can grow in confidence, resilience, and connection.
